Evzen Sobek is a Czech photographer and photography teacher. He studied at the University of Technology in Brno and at the Institute of Creative Photography at the Silesian University in Opava. Sobek's works mostly as a freelance documentary photographer. He has had numerous individual exhibitions and his work has won awards and has been printed in various publications. Sobek also lectures at least once a year at a variety of universities and institutes worldwide.
Personally, I think Sobek's work as a documentary photographer is very good. His photographs are very humanistic, contemporary and relevant to modern society. Initially, his photographs, for example, within his Life in Blue series, give the impression that they are just 'holiday snapshots' but somehow Sobek has been able move away from this idea and has instead created an interesting and modern series of work. Furthermore, Sobek's work looks like it was really easy to create, like not a lot of effort went in to it, and I don't know whether this is a good or bad thing. However, overall, I do like his work, but, personally, I wouldn't call is amazing...
